SKU: Fibre lasers | IR 1064 nm Status: Out of stock

ACI's laser trimmers differ from lasers designed for marking materials because of the way that the beam is generated for trimming applications and because they have extra electronic interfaces to connect the necessary measuring equipment.

Properties
The DFL Ventus Trimmer is a solid-state laser based on ytterbium-doped fibre laser technology. The DFL Ventus Trimmer consists of a fully air-cooled supply unit and a compact laser head with an integrated imaging system. There is a trimming module interface in the supply unit for connecting the measuring equipment. The standard version of the imaging system has an optical resolution of approximately 9 µm/pixel with an image size of approximately 9 x 9 mm². By tilting the scanner mirrors, individual resistors or partial areas can be selectively recorded and trimmed. The AOI plugin can be used for recording and processing images; it allows the entire trimming process to be performed using a single piece of software.

ACI's laser trimmers differ from lasers designed for marking materials because of the way that the beam is generated for trimming applications and because they have extra electronic interfaces to connect the necessary measuring equipment. The measuring equipment measures either the entire circuit or the individual resistor, and uses an output signal to control the trimming process. This means that the trimming process can be stopped in real time by the measuring system's output signal. By saving and processing the most recent mirror/position data, multiple cuts can be joined or combined with excellent positional accuracy to create all the commonly used trimming geometries.

The imaging system can be used to identify and locate the components that need to be trimmed, and to precisely position the cuts. Compensating for position changes resulting from the soldering process is one example of the things it allows you to do. The trimming operations can also be observed and documented. The trimming process can be statistically analysed by looking at the cut length and time.

Laser trimmers are used either as integration systems in existing production lines or as manual workstations.

Software
The laser system is controlled using our proprietary Magic Mark marking software. An intelligent user privilege management system facilitates the creation of different user groups. This way, the laser system can be adjusted to cater for the user's specific requirements. When using the laser system in automated production lines, fully automated operation – including data exchange with various data sources – can be achieved without any difficulties. Optionally, plugins such as the code or script module can be used to add extra functions to the Magic Mark software.
